Bridal Musings gets a chic new makeover.

Bridal Musings has a shiny new look!

I am overjoyed to finally be able to share it with all of you because I love this!

No, let’s not do that. I will remove the capitals. I LOVE IT.

In the past year, I felt that the pink, lace-topped design of my blog didn’t represent my aesthetic. Or the look and feel I created on Bridal Musings.

Do not get me wrong. I will always love blush pink (note the subtle touches of pink on the new design). And the design fit perfectly when I started Bridal Musings two years ago.

Like people, blogs also grow and change, so it was time to move forward.

A CHIC NEW BLOG DESIGN

The new design I created was meant to be chic, clean, modern, and playful. What do you think? What is the goal?

I have carefully designed every detail with you in mind. I took into account the feedback you guys shared during my Reader Survey from last year.

I did not want to make too many changes because the feedback on the layout of the blog itself was very positive. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.

When I visited my favorite blogs and websites, I also thought of the things that I value.

This has taken seven long months.

I was a perfectionist, so  I had to be involved in every step of design and development.

This brings me to two very talented (and patient) women who made it happen.

Tabitha Emma is an Australian illustrator and designer. Zoe Rooney is a developer extraordinaire. They are awesome! They are amazing! I am so grateful that they put up with my stupidly long emails and indecisiveness. (Yes, that girl was me.

Thank you to all the vendors, photographers, filmmakers, and brides and grooms who were so understanding and supportive as I had to delay their publication dates due to my work on this.

My mum also helped pay for the redesign as part of my birthday gift. She is my very personal Bridal Musings Cheerleader!

Zee went above and beyond his husbandly duties, answering questions as inane as “Should the alignment be a little more left?” And many, many others.

Let’s not turn this into an Oscars talk, but instead take a look at the new digs.

Navigation

Real weddings are the soul and heart of Bridal musings. They are, therefore, prominently displayed on the homepage (with the three most recent real weddings on top) and the navigation bar.

Categories are streamlined along the top bar. Real Weddings (real weddings), Inspiration, Planning DIY, Style and Beauty.

Watch this space for exciting new contributions from regular contributors to the category of planning and inspiration!

All information pages can be found at the top of the page. You can submit something to BridalMusings, advertise, or contact us.

Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will find many useful links.

You can also click on the ‘ scroll up’ button at the top to quickly return to the blog’s top!

New Features

Thank you to all the talented film and photography makers who shared their work with us.

They have played an important role in the success and growth of Bridal musings.

For me, I needed to show their work in the best possible way.

The white space is to focus on the stunning imagery.

You can also browse the amazing new photo and movie galleries at your convenience.

My favorite parts: Woo-hoo!

Photo Gallery

Browse hundreds of beautiful, inspiring, and creative images on Bridal Musings.

You can use the drop-down menu to navigate through the galleries on the page or return to the gallery.

Use the arrows to move through the photos on your screen (or the up, left, right, and down arrows) or the up, down, right, and left arrows of your keyboard.

Share images individually on Facebook or Twitter about them or pin them to your Pinterest boards.

What is the best part of the photo gallery? You can click on the link to see where the image originated so that you can find out more!

Dasha Caffrey Photography shared with us her beautiful photos to be used in the gallery and on the pages of real weddings. They look stunning.

Film Gallery

This gallery of wedding films is unique.

You can search by location, film style, and wedding style (rustic, vintage, etc.). There are so many more options.

Browse my personal favorites as well as the work of talented filmmakers I highly recommend.

– The images for the Film Gallery were provided by Studio 1208, a husband-and-wife team of talented photographers and videographers!

There’s more to life than roses and unicorns

Let’s take a moment to be serious.

There will be some bugs that take time to fix.

As a warning, you may see some strange things around here in the next few days.

Some images may be missing or resized. It will take a long time to import all of the photos and videos into the galleries.

It was just too hard to wait. I had to share my favorite website with you. It might become yours as well!

Please explore the new features, and let me know how you like them.

Please let me know your thoughts, as always!

Elizabeth xx

ps. ps. The redesign and all of that meant I couldn’t devote as much time to blogging as I would have liked.
