Cinderella Wedding Inspiration Shoot in the Woods

This beautiful styled shoot inspired by Cinderella will let you unleash your inner princess!

Krista Leigh Hurst Photography conceived the shoot and gathered a creative team to help bring it to life. Little Miss Lovely Vintage created a vintage-inspired dress, hand-painted weddings designed beautiful stationery, and a bride with her Prince William.

Oh, how I love this shoot. And that gown. The sewing table was set up with a few balls, a giant reel, and a mini dressmaker’s dummy. A variety of illustrated paper beauties complemented it.

Photographer’s Notes

Cinderella started with nothing and ended up with it all. Love was all I needed to know. Call me romantic, but love that is unimaginable and crazy is what I believe in. For this shoot, I wanted to create an updated Cinderella tale filled with love, beautiful details, and a woman who is strong enough to find her happy ending.

Hand-Painted Weddings

Modern Cinderella Invitation Sets, Menus, Escort Cards, and Table Signs are hand-painted and inspired by Cinderella’s climactic scene where, at midnight, she runs down the steps to her carriage, full of love.

The vine illustration is inspired by old-fashioned fairytale designs, which begin with “Once Upon a Time” and end with “Happily ever after.” These phrases are scattered throughout the stationery and are introduced on the invitation in the line “A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes,” an iconic song from the Cinderella tale.

Little Miss Lovely Vintage

Just a few days prior to Krista asking me to take part in this photo shoot, I was browsing through one of the local thrift shops and stumbled upon a beautiful 1950s tulle gown with a muted blue hue. It was perfect. I made the dress fit our model perfectly, reinforced the seams, and added a cream-colored sash at the waist to highlight the gown.

I love to find vintage dresses that can be adapted for modern brides or women. It’s like repurposing a dress that someone else no longer wants and making it fit someone who’ll really appreciate it.

Thank you to Krista, the team, and all involved for sharing this beautiful shoot with us. My husband is not happy that I keep singing ‘A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes …”. The problem is, I don’t know the rest of the lyrics apart from this first line.
