Fairytale Wedding in true Scottish style

The Scots are known for their style, elegance and simplicity. Scotland is surrounded by mountain ranges and highlands on all sides and the country is steeped in history. The natural elegance combined with its mystical aura, gives it an out of the world charm. It is one of the few countries that have not yet been overpowered by commercialization, and the people are fond of the quiet solitude of the place. And because of the majestic castles and villas, people are easily drawn to it, to become a part of history.

The Aldourie Castle and Estate is situated to the south of Loch Ness and covers about 500 acres. It is perfect to organize a grand wedding, because the greenery and mountain ranges provide a gorgeous backdrop. It had fallen to disintegration, but after its restoration, it has regained much of its former grandeur. The hall alone can play host to about 60 guests and can accommodate about 30 guests. It has been re-furnished lavishly, and provides all the comfort that can be expected of castle-dwelling. Naturally, for those who are looking for both style and comfort, this castle should be the first choice.

Another elegant castle is the Brodie Castle. It was built in the sixteenth century and still retains much of its past grandeur. It has a well-equipped library where the guests can sit and relax, sip champagne and enjoy the mesmerizing view outside. It main feature however, has to be the dining room which can seat a total of about twenty eight guests. Adjacent apartments have been built later in the west wing, to accommodate more guests. The customary dance and dinner is usually held in the Old Stables as it provides a floor space to accommodate up to 60 guests. The castle itself is in the middle of huge pastures which is soothing and relaxing to the eye. The wedding can be organised either inside the castle or on the grounds.

Castle Fraser is situated right in the centre of huge stretches of grasslands and its distinguishing feature is its many towers and turrets, which when climbed offers a spectacular view of the grounds around the castle. The Great Hall is huge and so is the Library and weddings can be organised in either of the two places, which has a capacity of a hundred and seventy guests respectively. A fireplace captures the attention in the Great Hall. Here too, weddings can be held indoors as well as outdoors.

The Barcaldine Castle is located in Argyll to the south of Loch Creran, and offers a splendid view of the Glencoe. It is close to the charming village of Benderloch and you may wander towards the beautiful beaches of Tralee. It special feature is that it provides for bread and breakfast along with accommodation. The scenic beauty around it is no doubt beautiful and provides the picture-perfect backdrop for any wedding organised in it.
