Wedding themes are the call of the day. Not only are weddings an occasion to give free license to one’s imagination, the euphoria associated with such a ceremony makes the entire preparatory process a joyful experience in itself. And the decoration becomes all the more eye-catching if planned around a particular theme.

There are many wedding themes to choose from. A lot of them sell pre-designed wedding cards with beautiful butterfly motifs, but those who have a bit more time to spare, can go for handmade, personalized wedding cards which may carry a photograph of the couple amidst a sprinkling of butterflies and a self-written poem. The guests can also be sent a wristband along with the wedding card, with a single butterfly attached to wear on the wedding day.

Since the bride is the centre of attraction on the big-day, her attire should reflect the theme to the fullest. The gown may have delicate butterflies stitched to the seams, the centre of the neckline, the tiara, the bow of the bouquet in her hand; the lace on the slippers, wristbands, several small butterflies may be stitched into a long and delicate waistband. For the groom, a single butterfly may be attached to the lapel of the tux. The bridesmaid can also carry baskets of flowers with butterflies attached to them.

All the rest of the accessories and supplies including table cloths, the cutlery for dinner etc can also be imprinted with butterflies. The cake may be in the shape of the butterfly. The positive side of such a theme is that the butterflies can be of any shape, color or size which when used judiciously does not let the decorations become monotonous, and yet combines the entire decoration to one particular theme. It is up to the decorators to match up everything according to personal tastes.
