The Formal Look
Mens' wedding fashion has become a much discussed topic contrary to what many may believe. What the groom is going to wear for a wedding requires nearly as much preparation as does the bride's. With new trends in mens' formal wear surfacing, men are not behind women when it comes to making a statement on their wedding day. The classic look still remains the most popular but the degree of comfort and elegance dictates the choice of wedding attire for men. Wedding suits just like bridal gowns can either be bought from a designer label or hired depending on the budget.
Suits: this gives the classy look and even made of delicate fabrics are actually very durable and tough. While beige and white are good morning colors, darker shades are preferred if the occasion is to be held in the evening.
Frock Coats: these are perfect for the tall and well-built and traditionally worn by men on an everyday basis and not simply on wedding occasions. The jackets of frock coats are slightly longer than those of suits but are usually made of similar fabrics. Tuxedos are the right choice for those with a broad frame and black tuxedos when paired with striped trousers couldn't be better suited for a formal evening wedding party!
Tail coats with their characteristic longer back jackets similar in look to that of a swallow bird's tail in combination with striped pants are another favorite with modern day grooms.
The formal suit needs to be paired with chic accessories like ties and shoes. The dark suit with a white shirt and a bright tie is perfect for the evening wedding. The cocktail suit is similar with a greater focus on sophistication. It is always best to go for a tailored suit which although likely to be rather expensive, will give him the best fit possible while incorporating a certain degree of uniqueness. A designer suit is usually less expensive but care should be taken to see that it corresponds to contemporary style trends. A standard suit purchased from the local departmental store may serve the purpose well enough and can be worn for later occasions as well.
The modern day groom, the best man, the father of the bride all need to consult a professional prior to selecting their attire for the big day. This is all the more important since their outfits must compliment what the bride and bridesmaids are wearing. Measurements for suits to be tailored must be done at least a couple of months before the wedding. Looking into these little facts will ensure that the men look equally fashionable and elegant as the women on the day of the wedding.
