These corsets are often made of flexible material. You can normally find leather corsets and cloth corsets which are then made stiff by boning. Boning is done either by using plastic rods or some other materials. The boning is also called as stays or ribs which is inserted into the channels in the cloth or the leather.

Even today, corsets are in fashion and is often used by the celebrities. It is not commonly used in the daily life as it was in the Victorian era.
